Our postdoctoral researecher, Justyna Hejman-Mancewicz, presented her research at the “Advanced School on Methods for Impact Evaluation” event organised by the Research Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies (IRVAPP) at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, in Venice (Italy), between 22 and 24 January 2024. The event gathered graduate students and researchers in applied policy evaluation and quantitative micro-econometrics.
The poster, entitled “Temporary Labour Migrants in the EU: Birds of Passage – Elephants in the Room”, presented Justyna’s research idea to examine the labour market impact of temporary labour migrants in Poland – a key destination country for temporary labour migrants in the EU, especially from Ukraine. The poster provided insights into a quasi-experimental research design aimed at isolating the causal impact of temporary labour migration on Poland’s labour market.
